Literacy Night and Brod Bagert

Wow! The last week has been a busy one in the Fielder Library. On Thursday we had our Literacy Night. Students were amazed by magician Chad Chesmark about the “Magic of Reading!” They also got to participate in reader’s theater, play games, and recite their own poetry! A HUGE thank you goes out to our generous PTA for providing the funds for the magician and the brag tags! Watch the Animoto below to see some of the creative book character costumes.

Yesterday students in grades K-3 heard a presentation from poet Brod Bagert! He showed us all how to read with emotion and truly enjoy performing poetry.

Sister Schools and Time for a Break :)

Is it winter break already?? Between book fair, a visit from author Willy Claflin, and computer coding lessons, December has really flown by!!

This morning I had the privilege of visiting our Sister School, West Memorial Elementary. I dropped off the books that we bought for them from the Scholastic Book Fair using the $205 that we raised through the All for Books program. Ms. Steeger, the principal, and Ms. Watson, the librarian, wanted to let everyone at Fielder know how much they appreciate having us as their sister school!

Students will only be able to come first thing in the morning at 7:55 if they are accompanied by a parent. This will help assure that all students are back in class and ready for learning by 8:20.
